Why Nature-Based Program?
At Aiming for Greatness Preschool we are a nature based program. This means that we do a lot of our activities outdoors and we are outdoors as much as possible. The outdoors has so much to offer for the children and most children are not outside enough. We have done a lot of research and studies have proven that when a child is outside it benefits the whole-child (Emotionally, Physically, Socially, Cognitively, and ). The outdoors enhances their creativity which is a main thing that we value here at Aiming for Greatness Preschool. Also, children need the outdoors and space to be able to explore with their senses and run around to burn off their extra energy. Many doctors say the outdoors is better to help reduce the stress on the children's bodies and stress injuries can last decades and a skin knee lasts less than month, so it is even beneficial for their health.

Why Play-Based?
Children do most of their learning through play. At Aiming for Greatness Preschool we have both structured and unstructured play for children. We have different centers that allow children to choose different activities that they want to participate in. Each of our centers in the classroom are designed to build social skills, physical skills (gross motor or fine motor skills), and express themselves through creativity. Most of our centers reflect different aspects of nature to bring in nature during free play when we can't make it outdoors because of the weather. Also, our teachers plan learning games that will encourage children to play different types of games to learn new concepts or skills.

Why Family-Oriented?
At Aiming for Greatness we are family-oriented. Family is the most cricial for a young child's development and learning. At Aiming for Greatness Preschool we work on building a bridge between school and home. We do have main activities in our center that allow for families to become apart of our everyday learning experiences. We love it when parens come into the classroom and read a story to us, teach us about their cultures, cook a special meal with us, or come in and enjoy free play. This helps children learn more about their community, different cultures, and have an extra role model to look up to.

Why All Natural Food?
It is food free of additives, chemicals, or genetic manipulation. At Aiming for Greatness we want to eliminate or decrease the exposure of artificial flavorings, colorings, preservatives, chemicals and toxins that the children are taking in. The reason for doing this is because the chemicals and toxins that we take in from the foods that we eat can lead to life threatening diseases later in our lives such as diabetes, heart disease, cancer, and sometimes it can lead to death. The natural foods help the children to have more natural fuel and have energy that isn't based off the sugars that most children take in which can help them develop better physically and emotionally. Also, when taking away the chemicals and toxins out of the food we eat the foods have more nutrition value.

Why Developmental Appropriate?
Developmental appropriate is the term used to say that all activities that we do with the children is based off the children's skills and abilities. We encourage the children to try different activities that may be challenging for them but are not to challenging where the children are discouraged of trying new activities. With giving children a little challenge that isn't too difficult for them to overcome it helps build new skills.
